FAT32 partitions are used for some devices like Xbox one, and Play Station 3 (PS3).
Most of the partitions are defaulted to NTFS when formatting and Windows Disk Management is also able to create FAT32 partition by deleting the NTFS and all your stored information, but we need to convert NTFS to FAT32 without data loss, so run Partition Expert and do as follow:
The conversion will finish in seconds without reboot and it will keep data intact too.
Partition Expert is the all-in-one disk managing tool, but if you’re not interested in other features, you can use the freeware NTFS to FAT32 Converter instead, which is a portable program with 64-bit package too.
Steps of using Converter:
This freeware has only one function that is to do the conversion from NTFS to FAT32, if you want to create and format new partition, you can try Partition Expert instead.
We can create four primary partitions at most on MBR disk, when we run Disk Management and intend to create the fifth partition on unallocated space, the New partition option in the right-click menu will gray out unless we delete a primary partition and create an Extended partition can we active that option again.
Convert Primary partition to logical without data loss in Partition Expert:
You may have noticed that when clicking on C Drive, the first primary partition, this convert to logical function is disappeared. That’s not a bug, but we blocked it. C Drive, the system partition, needs to be primary partition so the operating system is able to boot.
We already know that system can only be installed on primary partition and if we want to dual-system on one disk, we need to convert another logical partition to primary again, how can we convert a logical partition to primary without deleting any data and re-recreate a partition? Our Partition Expert is the right choice, download, install and Run it.
You can create as many as logical partitions on MBR disk with Partition Expert, but you can have at most 3 primary partitions if you have many logical partitions in the Extended partition section and you can have 4 primary partitions without creating other partitions.
Confused? Actually, all logical partitions are belonging to the Extended partition. Run Disk management and you’ll see.
